An Evening on the Mississippi

On Monday, July 19th, we boarded the Twin Rivers bus and drove to Red Wing, where our very own boat captain “Rusty” was waiting for us with his boat the “Sight-Sea-ER-II”. What we all assumed to be a leisurely evening boat ride quickly turned into an exciting event as we spotted eagles, drank fresh coffee, and enjoyed the company of old and new friends alike. We could not have asked for more perfect weather as we sailed down the river, the wind serving as “God’s air conditioning” and the sun making its departure over the horizon. As a group we all guaranteed Rusty that we would be his passengers in the month of October, so that we can experience more eagle sightings and the breath taking colors that arrive with the season of fall. It won’t be long before summer will be behind us, and another beautiful boat ride experience will be coming ashore again!
